Understanding Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS)

Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) is a condition where individuals experience adverse reactions to low levels of everyday chemicals. Symptoms can vary widely and may include headaches, fatigue, nausea, respiratory issues, and dizziness.

People with MCS often report that their symptoms are triggered by exposure to substances such as cleaning products, perfumes, or even petrol exhaust, even at levels generally considered safe. The exact cause of MCS remains unknown, but it is believed to involve a combination of environmental and psychological factors.

For those experiencing these symptoms, consulting a healthcare provider knowledgeable about environmental sensitivities can be beneficial. They can offer guidance on managing symptoms and improving quality of life.

It's important to note that MCS is not universally recognised as a medical condition by major health organisations, and its diagnosis remains a topic of debate.
