Sources & signs of poor indoor air quality

Where do contaminates come from? There are many sources for indoor air pollution in your home!

  • Mould
  • Condensation
  • Dust mites
  • VOC's from - candles/incense sticks, lack of ventilation, cleaning products, air fresheners, bacteria/viruses, pet dander, cooking, gas/heating appliances, building materials, furniture and paint/varnishes.

Feeling a little under the weather in a specific indoor environment, know the symptoms of poor IAQ.

  • Asthma (increased exacerbations)

Volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, are a group of chemicals that can cause harm to human health.

VOC types

Common types of VOC's  -

  • Formaldehyde

Low VOC products, lesson your exposure to harmful chemicals. Call us for more info!

Reducing VOCS

  • Low VOC alternative products e.g. personal care, cleaning products, candles and building materials
  • Ventilation
  • Be aware of VOC content in products
  • Try to not bring VOC's into home

Rising damp? or penetrating damp? Moisture and a lack of ventilation in your subfloor!!

Sources of damp
